Eleuthera, The Bahamas
Eleuthera is an incredible place to study modern carbonate depositional environments. The windward island on the eastern margin of The Bahamas has dramatic aeolianite exposures on cliffed coasts, coral reefs, and sandy beaches. The island might be best known for Schooner Cays, an expansive series of ooid shoals on the western edge of the platform, and cliff-top mega-boulders on the Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
