The Turks and Caicos Islands are a great place to study the past few sea level cycles through the carbonate stratigraphy and geomorphology. The platform is known for aeolianite dunes, the Ambergris Cay ooid shoals, coral reefs, and muddy tidal channels and flats, making it a phenomenal place to study modern and ancient carbonate depositional environments and sedimentary processes.
